Deglaze is the established app in this category and it is good. It has years of polish, a large and genuinely happy user base, and multi-signal extraction that reads captions, audio and on-screen text.
Wrap does the same extraction. We are not going to claim our AI is magically better — on the thing both apps are for, treat them as equal and pick on everything else. The real difference is what happens to a recipe once it is in the app.

Where Deglaze beats Wrap
- Track record. Thousands of ratings against our none. If you want the app with the longest history and the most reviews to read before you commit, that is Deglaze, and it is a reasonable thing to want.
- Household sharing. Deglaze shares a recipe library and a meal plan across a household. Wrap has nothing equivalent.
- Meal planning. Deglaze plans a week. Wrap deliberately does not — it is out of scope for us, not a feature we are about to ship.
- A native iPad app. Wrap is an iPhone app that also runs on Apple silicon Macs. If you cook from an iPad, Deglaze is the better fit.
Where Wrap beats Deglaze
- Your recipes leave with you. Copy any recipe to the clipboard as plain text and paste it into Notes, a message, or anywhere else. Export is a standing, unmet request in Deglaze's own reviews.
- No paywall today. Wrap is free while we are new. We are not promising free forever — a paid tier is coming — but nothing you have already saved will ever be taken away or locked behind it.
- You can send one to a friend. Any recipe turns into a shareable card, and whoever you send it to reads the whole thing without installing anything.
Which should you pick?
Pick Deglaze if you cook with a household, want a meal planner, use an iPad in the kitchen, or want the reassurance of a long review history.
Pick Wrap if what you want is to stop losing recipes in a saved folder, and you want them in a form you can copy, share and take somewhere else if we disappoint you.

Questions
Is Wrap's extraction as good as Deglaze's?
On the same Reel, expect comparable results. Both read the caption, the audio, and the text on screen. Anyone claiming a decisive quality gap in either direction is selling something.
Can I move my recipes from Deglaze to Wrap?
Not automatically, and we will not pretend otherwise. There is no bulk export out of Deglaze to import from. You can re-import from the original posts, which is tedious if you have hundreds.
Will Wrap start charging?
Yes, there will be a paid tier. Anyone who creates an account before the founding cutoff keeps unlimited caption imports forever plus a permanently larger media allowance. Nothing you already have gets taken away.
Does Wrap work on Android?
No, and neither does Deglaze. If you need Android, look at ReciMe or Paprika instead — we would rather tell you that than waste your time.
